“I think this will be a year to establish traditions that we haven’t established in the past,” Leah Messer exclusively tells news of spending the holidays with her family and daughters post-divorce.
Leah Messer is spending time with her family after her divorce from now-ex-fiancé Jaylan Mobley.
In an exclusive with news, the Teen Mom star teased her upcoming holiday season, including plenty of family bonding.
“On Christmas Day, I’m just going to have a gathering, a dinner with my family and my daughters at my house,” she tells news. “I believe this will be a year to establish traditions that we may not have established in the past.”
Messer is entering the holiday season after calling it quits with Mobley.
In September 2021, the couple made their relationship Instagram official. In August, news revealed the news of their engagement.
Two months later, their divorce was finalized.
In a joint statement, the former couple said they would “move forward as friends” after their divorce. Messer and Mobley also stated that they would “always have love and respect for each other.”
Messer is now “excited to spend the holidays with my daughters and continue to do what we do as a family,” she says.
The MTV star also told news she’s “doing great” despite the split. “It was difficult at the start of my breakup,” she explained. “However, there is a healing process and a grieving process after any breakup.”
“You form an attachment and a connection with someone, and you get to grieve that if that relationship doesn’t align,” Messer added.
Part 2 of the Teen Mom: The Next Chapter season 2 reunion will air on MTV on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.
